I am nothing, I am something
I weigh less than breath,
Darkness destroys me and light is my death
Who am I?
What Maya Saw is a fictional book. Maya is the only one who can see Shadows. Only she can find the clues and trails laid by a long-gone priest. Hence, the good and the evil both require her. Maya wants no part in this disturbing adventure. Instead, she wants to munch on butterscotch brownies, shop for trendy clothes and stop being a geek. Along with her friend Lola/Lalitanjali and another geek Veda, she launches into a clue hunt across Colaba. Professor Kekobad gives her all the necessary information about Shadows- a bunch of drop-dead gorgeous students who she realizes will do anything to keep their youth and beauty. Even kill. They are more than 100 years old. She worries that Sanath will turn out to be one of the Shadows. There is a young 7-year-old wearing a pink tutu too who can kill a goofy dog. Oops! Spoiler Alert!!!
I enjoyed reading this book because it shows how a geeky, prim but witty schoolgirl can solve mysteries. Also, it has a touch of fashion because of Lola and how she helps Maya to shop and change her style of clothing. It is suitable for people who love magic and fantasy. Also, this is appropriate for 12+ children as per the word choice. From 12-year-olds to 90- year-olds everyone will enjoy reading this book. One doesn’t feel like keeping the book down once started reading…………
